Carmelita Gardens is a self-sufficient village community in the Cayo District of Belize, Central America. Founded in 2010, the 98-acre development is nestled along the banks of the Belize River.
Pioneers of artisan urbanism, our community is designed to engage residents in organic growing, food production and artisan entrepreneurial interests. Carmelita Gardens is also 100% “off-grid” utilizing solar power supply, rainwater catchment and sustainable building practices.
