Additional Information: After losing everything in my life and falling into very bad health from stress I came close to death. I had come to terms with it. However something pulled me back as it always has. Reminding me once more that my work in this life is not yet over. During my time being ill and working on recovering I was approached by a wise man I have known for some time. He came and sat down with me at an outdoor gathering. He told me he had something he needed to tell me. During our conversation he instructed me that I had to go in search of land to create and sustain community. This was only part of what he told me. I spent over a year trying to find the right land and trying to figure out how I could afford it and how I could make community work. I have spent time in and currently live in another community so I have seen the ups and downs. I knew something had to be done differently. Eventually in the mess of countless emails I got my lines tangled and went to look at the wrong property and meet the wrong people. I ended up going to meet people at a completely different place than I expected. They turned out to be very nice people, however the land they showed me was not what I needed. So they showed me a few more lots, and none of them were quite right either. Finally they asked me what it was I wanted. When I told them I wanted to build an off grid sustainable tribal community their eyes lit up. They told me they had just the place. Turns out they were old heads from San Fran. They took me to a place where they used to do drums circles 40 yrs ago. I knew the first time I stepped foot on the land that it was going to be the beginnings of our new home. The plot is only 15 acres, but there is land all around us for sale, and it is cheap. Averaging around $3,000 an acre. The owners were so excited that they told me they would set the financing up however I needed it to help us make this happen. I put the word out to to the circle of people I know, and one by one people got on board. There are 8 adults and 2 children in our tribe officially. There are others who come out to help when they can. We have spent over a year now cleaning up parts of the land that were abused by some not so bright humans. We are now to the point where we feel we are close to being able to inhabit the land. Most of it is pristine, but some of it was a lot of work. Right now we have a few major projects to achieve to make the land comfortable. We are looking for more people to get involved and to help us expand the tribes land. Every person must be voted in, and no tribe member can sell their stake in the land to anyone outside of the tribe unless that person is voted in. If someone chooses to leave the tribe will buy them back out in a reasonable amount of time. If something happens to all of us the land will then go to a nature conservancy.
